ImageThe house

Cazal Rossignol (House of the Nightingale) is an old French Farmhouse which has been renovated to provide comfortable modern accommodation whilst retaining as much of the old character as possible.

ImageA newly fitted kitchen adjoins two downstairs lounges one with Log fire place and UK satellite TV, whilst the second larger lounge with patio doors onto lawns is suitable for image processing and has internet facilities plus a sofa and chairs.

ImageUpstairs are two bedrooms with double beds and bedrooms with three single beds.

During the warm spring and summer months breakfast and refreshments can be taken sitting under the verandah. A bathroom with WC and shower has been recently been installed.

ImageThe gardens

The large extensive gardens are mostly lawns with a variety of small trees including Olives, Almonds, Peaches & Figs The southerly aspect of the gardens ensure a warm sunny location in which to relax in privacy during the day, but provides good views of the night sky.

The location

A narrow steep road leads down from the hillside between the ochre coloured stone houses with their pink roofs.  At the centre of the village lies the old church and village cross, and from here country lanes lead off in four directions.

ImageOn clear days the Pyrenean peaks which line the southern horizon can easily be seen from the heart of the village and to the north the Black mountains dominate.

ImageFrom the village La Rigole, a river with popular walk and cycleway passes through the local countryside providing welcome shade below it pine trees as it wends its way towards the Canal du Midi. The surrounding countryside is a mixture of woodlands and large fields in which wheat, maize, and sunflowers are cultivated.

ImageIn the Spring months the meadows and woods are full of wild flowers, birds and animals.
